¹⁹ And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it,^(A) and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

The Narrow and Wide Gates

¹³ “Enter through the narrow gate.^(A) For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

²⁹ For I know that after my death you are sure to become utterly corrupt^(A) and to turn from the way I have commanded you. In days to come, disaster^(B) will fall on you because you will do evil in the sight of the Lord and arouse his anger by what your hands have made.”

⁵ Four thousand are to be gatekeepers and four thousand are to praise the Lord with the musical instruments^(A) I have provided for that purpose.”^(B)

3 And he said to me, “Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel.”

²⁷ If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you^(A) without raising questions of conscience.

¹⁵ The wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this writing and tell me what it means, but they could not explain it.^(A)

¹⁶ Now I have heard that you are able to give interpretations and to solve difficult problems.^(A) If you can read this writing and tell me what it means, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck,^(B) and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”^(C)

²⁴ and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body,^(A) which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
